Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has reportedly made Bayern Munich defender Dante one of his major transfer targets.
It is thought that Pellegrini is keen to add a permanent partner for captain Vincent Kompany to his squad, with the Chilean unsure over the abilities of Joleon Lescott, Matija Nastasic and Martin Demichelis.
Having considered a number of options, the City boss has identified Dante as the ideal candidate to fill the void, according to Bild.
However, the report added that Bayern coach Pep Guardiola would be keen to keep hold of the Brazilian international, who has over two years left to run on his contract at the Allianz Arena.
Ligue 1 side Monaco are also thought to be interested in the 30-year-old, should he become available.
