Manchester City have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Everton midfielder James McCarthy.
The Citizens were expected to complete a deal for Fabian Delph, before the England international decided to stay at Aston Villa.
According to Goal.com, City have now turned their attention to McCarthy, as they look to boost the number of homegrown players in their squad.
It is believed that the Republic of Ireland international wants to leave Everton, after not being offered a new contract by the club.
McCarthy joined Everton in September 2013 from Wigan Athletic.
