Manchester City have reportedly targeted Juventus defender Alex Sandro as the ideal player to fill their left-back void.
The 25-year-old is under contract with the Serie A giants until June 2020, but is said to have a release clause in the region of £25.6m.
According to The Mirror, however, the Brazil international - linked with a move to Manchester United last year - is soon to begin talks over a new deal with Juve which could see his price tag double.
Should Sandro agree fresh terms at the Juventus Stadium, he would be valued at £40m which will likely see City end their interest in the ex-Porto man.
The Citizens are understood to have been tracking Sandro's development since his Porto days, but they were beaten to his signature by Juve in 2015 and have cooled their interest since.
