Manchester City have reportedly emerged as one of the frontrunners to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland.
Despite his status at the Westfalenstadion, the Norway international will almost certainly sign for a new club next summer as a result of a release clause in his contract.
While the value of that option has never been revealed with concrete certainty, many of European football's top clubs are expected to compete for the 21-year-old's signature.
According to Sky Deutschland journalist Max Bielefeld, City and Paris Saint-Germain are best placed to win the race for the player.
Bielefeld added that Dortmund will attempt to repel any offers by offering Haaland a big pay-rise with the guarantee that he can depart 12 months later.
Haaland has scored 11 goals from just nine appearances in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season. body check tags ::
