Manchester City have reportedly not registered an interest in Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo.
Earlier on Wednesday, it had been claimed that Pep Guardiola had been scouting a player who represented Barcelona 'B' before making the switch to Portuguese football.
However, according to PA, the 21-year-old has not emerged as a transfer target for the current Premier League leaders after making just eight appearances for his current side.
City are currently well stocked in the position, with Aleksandr Kolarov, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna all able to play on the left side of defence.
