Manchester City have reportedly paused contract talks with English attacker Raheem Sterling.

The 26-year-old has again been an important player for the Citizens during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 13 times and contributing 10 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.

Sterling's existing deal at the Etihad Stadium is due to run until June 2023, but Pep Guardiola's side are said to be keen to sign the England international to a new long-term contract.

According to The Sun, 'initial discussions' between the two parties have taken place, with Man City said to be prepared to pay the attacker £320,000 a week.

However, the report claims that the Manchester club have placed discussions on hold for the moment while Sterling makes a decision on his management.

The former Liverpool youngster, who has scored nine times and registered six assists in 25 Premier League appearances this term, parted company with agent Aidy Ward in January. body check tags ::
