Manchester City have reportedly rejected a fresh Barcelona bid for defender Eric Garcia on deadline day.
City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed that his former club Barcelona are interested in the defender, who has less than one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad Stadium and has already said that he does not plan to sign an extension.
Garcia came through the ranks at Barcelona's famed La Masia academy and the Spanish giants had been keen to bring him back to the club for a cut-price fee due to the fact that he could be available on a free transfer next summer.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano insists that the Catalan outfit have seen a fresh bid of €17m (£15.4m) including add-ons turned down by City.
The Premier League club are holding out for a minimum bid of €20m (£18.2m) for the 19-year-old and are willing to hold on to him for the season if Barcelona do not meet that asking price.
Garcia made 20 appearances for Man City during a breakthrough campaign last season.
