Manchester City are reportedly keen to challenge Real Madrid for the services of Monaco striker Radamel Falcao.
Recent speculation has suggested that European champions Madrid were eager to sign the Colombian international, who only joined his current club 12 months ago from Atletico Madrid.
However, should he be made available for transfer, City boss Manuel Pellegrini has identified the 28-year-old as the ideal player to bolster his attacking options at the Etihad Stadium, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The English champions would only be able to recruit Falcao on a season-long loan basis, though, to ensure that they fall in line with UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules.
The report adds that if Falcao were to arrive in Manchester, the Citizens would allow Stevan Jovetic to join Juventus.
