Manchester City will reportedly not launch a bid for Kevin de Bruyne until discovering the outcome of contract talks between the player and his club Wolfsburg.
The ex-Chelsea midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the former Premier League champions, but Wolfsburg are determined to keep hold of the Belgian.
It is believed that the German outfit will try to convince De Bruyne to stay put by offering a deal worth £100,000 a week.
According to Goal.com, City are content to hold off on making a bid until they know whether De Bruyne wants to leave Wolfsburg or not, but the North-West outfit are not prepared to offer more than £35m.
The 24-year-old joined Wolfsburg from Chelsea last year for a fee thought to be in the region of £18m.
