Manchester City are reportedly preparing to offer key centre-back Nicolas Otamendi a new contract.
Otamendi signed a five-year deal with City upon his arrival from Valencia in the summer of 2015.
The 29-year-old initially struggled to settle in the Premier League, but has been in excellent form this season - scoring four times in 20 Premier League appearances for the runaway leaders.
According to ESPN, City are keen to tie Otamendi to a new long-term contract, and are hopeful that an agreement will be reached in the early stages of 2018.
Otamendi's form and consistency has been key for a City side that have been without the services of Vincent Kompany and John Stones for stages of the 2017-18 campaign.
