Manchester City have reportedly identified Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell as a possible addition during the January window.
Chilwell has progressed into a key man at the King Power Stadium, while the recently-capped England international has penned a long-term contract with the Foxes.
However, according to The Mirror, City are ready to launch an offer for the left-back due to the injury problems suffered by Benjamin Mendy.
The France international has been restricted to just 16 outings in the Premier League since the start of last season, and it appears that Pep Guardiola has decided to look for an alternative to the 24-year-old.
The report claims that City are prepared to make a bid in the region of £50m, although Leicester may demand a bigger fee to consider a sale at the midway point of the campaign.
Chilwell has made 70 appearances since progressing through the academy setup in the East Midlands.
