Manchester City could reportedly compete with Barcelona and Real Madrid for the signature of Bayern Munich defender David Alaba during this summer's transfer window.
Alaba has made 372 appearances for Bayern since making his debut in 2010, including 28 outings in all competitions this season, largely operating as a centre-back due to his team's injury problems.
The Austria international will see his current deal expire at the end of next season, though, and both Barca and Madrid are thought to be keeping a close eye on developments.
According to Sport, City are also 'very interested' in signing the 27-year-old, who recently hinted that he would be open to moving to the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola's side have struggled defensively this season, conceding 31 times in their 28 Premier League matches, which is more than Liverpool, Sheffield United, Leicester City and Manchester United and just one fewer than Crystal Palace.
The Citizens are also allegedly ready to rival Chelsea for the signature of Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic during this summer's transfer window.
