Manchester City are reportedly keen to hand teenage centre-back Eric Garcia a new contract amid suggestions that Barcelona want to bring him back to Camp Nou.
The 19-year-old joined the Premier League champions from Barca in 2017 and has made 14 first-team appearances for the Citizens, including 11 in all competitions during the current season.
A recent report claimed that the Catalan giants are interested in re-signing the Spain Under-21 international during this summer's transfer window.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Pep Guardiola's side want to open contact talks with the youngster in the hope of tying him to a new long-term deal.
Garcia has featured on six occasions in the Premier League this season, while he also turned out against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League in November.
The Spaniard's current deal at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire in June 2022.
