Manchester City are reportedly not prepared to entertain the idea of Julian Alvarez leaving the club on loan during this summer's transfer window.
The 23-year-old made his 49th appearance of the 2022-23 campaign in Man City's final Premier League match of the season against Brentford on Sunday afternoon.
Alvarez has contributed 17 goals and five assists in a successful first term with the English champions, including nine goals and one assist in the Premier League.
The Argentina international has only started 13 times in the Premier League, though, due to the presence of Erling Braut Haaland in the final third of the field.
Alvarez has been used in a withdrawn role this term, although he is competing with Kevin De Bruyne in that position, and the bulk of his appearances this season have come off the bench.
Bayern Munich have recently been credited with an interest in Alvarez, with the German champions said to be willing to offer him the starting role at centre-forward next season.
However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man City will not consider any loan offers for the South American in the upcoming market.
The Citizens secured Alvarez's signature in January 2022, but he finished the campaign with River Plate before officially moving to the Etihad Stadium last summer.
The forward has won the Premier League title in his first season at the club, and he could be a part of a treble-winning side during the 2022-23 campaign.
Man City will take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final next weekend before switching their attention to the Champions League, with Inter Milan their opponents in the competition.
As well as enjoying a productive campaign in Manchester, Alvarez was a part of the Argentina side that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The forward made seven appearances in the competition, finding the back of the net on four occasions, including a brace against Croatia in the semi-finals.
Man City are not believed to be in the market for a new forward this summer, but they are expected to boost their defence and midfield, with West Ham United's Declan Rice thought to be a leading target, as the England international prepares to seek pastures new this summer. body check tags ::
