Manchester City have no intention of letting Ferran Torres leave in January, according to a report.

The Spain international enjoyed a strong start to the campaign through the middle before suffering a metatarsal fracture at the Nations League Finals.

Torres is set to remain sidelined until the New Year as he recuperates, but Barcelona are thought to be keen to bring him to Camp Nou over the winter.

However, Marca reports that Blaugrana chiefs Mateu Alemany and Ferran Reverter's recent efforts to negotiate a January loan deal failed to bear fruit.

The report adds that City are not opposed to a sale in the summer of 2022, but Pep Guardiola does not want the 21-year-old to head out on loan midway through the season.

Torres scored two goals and set up two more in four Premier League appearances before his injury, and his Etihad deal does not expire until 2025. body check tags ::
