Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne has reportedly held initial talks with new MLS side San Diego FC over a possible transfer in 2025.

The 32-year-old continues to be an essential part of the Man City juggernaut which has dominated the Premier League in recent times under the expert leadership of Pep Guardiola.

De Bruyne played the full 90 minutes on Sunday afternoon, when the Citizens beat West Ham United 3-1 to secure a fourth straight Premier League title.

Despite injury issues this season, the former Wolfsburg playmaker has managed to post impressive numbers in the league, scoring four times and providing 10 assists.

Ahead of this summer's European Championships in Germany, De Bruyne will quickly conclude his title-winning celebrations and plan how to help Belgium to their first-ever major trophy.

Man City's De Bruyne 'holds talks with San Diego'

According to The Athletic, De Bruyne has already taken a step towards working out his future following his exit from Manchester City.

The report claims that members of the 32-year-old's camp have held initial talks with MLS outfit San Diego over a possible move to the United States for the player.

It is believed that De Bruyne would be open to moving himself and his family across the pond in the future, although an imminent departure from Man City is not on the cards.

The Belgian's contract at the Etihad expires during the summer of 2025, and it is believed that the midfielder wants to continue under the wing of head coach Guardiola and try to win a fifth consecutive Premier League.

City could be losing another one of their midfield maestros soon in the form of Bernardo Silva, who is attracting interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

New face at the MLS party

After a gruelling bidding process, San Diego won the right to become MLS' 30th franchise club, beating off intense competition from a Las Vegas-based side.

De Bruyne's potential new employers will play their home matches in South Carolina at the Snapdragon Stadium, in which 35,000 supporters can be accommodated.

San Diego are yet to play their first-ever match, with the club set to join MLS' Eastern Conference at the beginning of the 2025 campaign.

Despite this, the new MLS side have already signed three players ahead of their inaugural campaign: Duran Feree, Danish midfielder Jeppe Tverskov and Marcus Ingvartsen. body check tags ::
