Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi has passed a medical and agreed personal terms with Manchester City ahead of his move to the Etihad Stadium.
Despite being linked with Manchester United for much of the summer, it was revealed earlier this week that City had moved into pole position in the race to sign the Argentine.
According to the Daily Mail, the deal could be worth as much as £32m to Valencia after Otamendi arrived in Manchester to undergo a medical on Wednesday.
The report suggests that City will confirm the signing of the 27-year-old on a five-year contract in the next 24 hours.
Otamendi will become the club's fourth summer arrival following deals to sign Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph and Patrick Roberts.
