Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that defender Maicon will not be part of his side next season.
The 31-year-old was not selected to be part of the Chilean's squad for City's pre-season tour of South Africa after he failed to turn up for training.
Pellegrini told the club's official website: "Maicon didn't come here to the pre-season and he will not be in the squad at Manchester City this year."
Pellegrini's first game in charge of City ended in defeat to Supersport United, as goals from Mame Niang and Kermit Erasmus were enough to win the game for the South African side.
