Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly identified Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva as a transfer target for the summer window.
Silva has been regarded as a key player by Pep Guardiola throughout his time at the Etihad Stadium, making a total of 282 appearances in all competitions since 2017.
During that period, the Portugal international has contributed 50 goals and 56 assists, helping City win four Premier League titles as well as other pieces of silverware.
However, it is no secret that the 28-year-old is open to taking on a new challenge at this stage of his career, and that is expected to remain the case at the end of 2022-23.
Silva possesses a contract until 2025, but if he is unlikely to consider a renewal, Guardiola and City officials may give consideration to a sale sooner rather than later.
Barcelona have been linked with the former Monaco man during the most recent transfer windows, only for their financial situation contributing to a deal never materialising.
As it stands, it is unclear whether that will be the case when the market reopens in June, but it appears that they will face strong competition for the creator's signature.
According to Le10Sport, PSG are giving consideration to making a formal approach for Silva later in the year.
The report claims that a move was briefly considered last summer, only for it to become apparent that it was unrealistic, but PSG are now allegedly ready to make a more sustained effort to complete the signing.
Sporting advisor Luis Campos and forward Kylian Mbappe, who played with Silva during his Monaco days, are both said to favour the addition to the first-team squad.
Silva is said to be viewed as a priority signing, and he would be linking up with a heavy Portuguese contingent should he make the switch to Parc des Princes.
Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira, Renato Sanches and Vitinha are all present in Christophe Galtier's first-team squad in the French capital.
Although PSG did not make any additions in the winter transfer window, not helped by the Hakim Ziyech saga, the Ligue 1 leaders will be active ahead of 2023-24. body check tags ::
