Paris Saint-Germain right-back Achraf Hakimi is reportedly considering the prospect of joining Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid.
Mbappe has allegedly informed PSG that he will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, and the striker has been heavily tipped to make the move to the Santiago Bernabeu on a free transfer.
A recent report claimed that the 25-year-old has given the green light to join Real Madrid, but nothing has yet been signed between the two parties.
Mbappe, PSG's all-time leading scorer with 244 goals in 291 appearances, is currently focused on helping the club win a record-extending 12th Ligue 1 title this season and go all the way in both the Coupe de France and Champions League.
Should Mbappe officially make the high-profile switch to Real Madrid, Mundo Deportivo, via Fichajes, reports that the striker's close friend Hakimi could be interested in a future return to the Spanish capital.
Hakimi spent a decade as an academy player for Real Madrid before making his professional debut in 2017, but he only made 17 first-team appearances and was eventually sold to Inter Milan after two years on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
The report adds that Real Madrid have been keeping a close eye on Hakimi's development since leaving the club, and are 'exploring options in the right-back market'.
Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez have featured regularly at right-back under manager Carlo Ancelotti this season, but both players are believed to be facing uncertain futures at the club, the latter of whom is out of contract in the summer.
Although Hakimi is said to be interested in a possible future return to Real Madrid, it is claimed that the Morocco international may decide to wait until the summer of 2025 to leave PSG when he would only have a year left on his contract.
Hakimi has established himself as one of the world's best right-backs over the last few years, with his exceptional form in his solitary season at Inter enough to persuade PSG to fork out an initial €60m in the summer of 2021.
Across all competitions, Hakimi has contributed with 13 goals and 17 assists in 105 appearances for PSG, including four goals and five assists in 25 matches so far this season.
Manchester City have previously been linked with a move for Hakimi, but they would presumably only step up their interest in the right-back if captain Kyle Walker were to seek pastures new. body check tags ::
