Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin has reportedly turned down the chance to join Manchester City.
The 29-year-old has been an integral part of the club's success in the past five years after joining from Villarreal.
His displays have seen him linked with a number of Europe's biggest sides, but according to Marca, he has rejected an offer worth €6.5m (£4.6m) a year from City.
It is believed that the Uruguayan has instead pledged his future to Atletico and will sign an improved contract with the club.
Godin has won the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Europa League during his time in Madrid.
