Manchester City are reportedly preparing a January move for Schalke 04 attacker Leroy Sane, but will not pay his asking price of £32m.
A whole host of European clubs have been linked with the 19-year-old, who only signed a new four-year contract in the summer.
Earlier this month, Sane's agent revealed that his client would not be leaving Schalke in January, but did not rule out a move next summer.
According to The Guardian, however, Man City will still press ahead with a move next month as they attempt to add fresh blood to their squad, although the Premier League side are not prepared to pay in excess of £30m.
Sane, who has been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool, has scored four times and registered four assists in the Bundesliga this season.
