Manchester City are keen on extending the contract of James Milner, according to a report.
The Daily Star claims that the Premier League giants will open negotiations over a new deal with the midfielder next month.
The 28-year-old England international, whose current contract with the Citizens runs out in June 2015, himself wants to remain at the Etihad Stadium and is happy to be a squad player as long as he gets a decent number of games.
It has been reported that City are likely to offer Milner a new deal that will run until the summer of 2017 and want to wrap it up before the 2014 World Cup starts in Brazil in June.
Milner joined City from Aston Villa in 2010.
