The mother of Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has reportedly decided to prevent any progression with contract negotiations between the two parties.
Sane has enjoyed a successful period at the Etihad Stadium since moving to City in 2016, but the Germany international will have just two years remaining on his deal in the summer.
The Premier League leaders are keen to extend the player's stay in the North-West, but according to the Daily Mail, Sane's mother Regina Weber is proving to be 'obstructive'.
The 23-year-old has found himself in and out of the team in recent weeks, and that may have led to an intervention at a time when Sane has also failed to hold down a starting role with his national team.
Sane has still contributed 12 goals and 13 assists from 31 outings in England's top flight and the Champions League this season.
