Schalke 04 are reportedly the latest club to show an interest in taking Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas on loan, should he wish to find regular first-team football away from the Spanish capital.
Casillas has been restricted to starting Champions League matches so far this season, with Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti preferring Diego Lopez due to his fine form in the last 12 months.
Schalke are thought to be actively seeking a replacement for current number one Timo Hildebrand and will continue to monitor the Spanish stopper's availability closely, according to talkSPORT.
The 32-year-old has gone on record as stating that he wants to see out the remainder of his contract at the Bernabeu, but could be available on a free transfer next summer.
Manchester City have also been consistently linked with an active interest in signing Casillas, who gave a timely reminder of his ability in Madrid's 2-2 draw with Juventus in midweek.
