Sunderland could reportedly move for Manchester City winger Adam Johnson before the start of next season.
The 24-year-old spent much of last season on the sidelines, and he has also lost his place in the England team due to lack of first-team action.
Black Cats boss Martin O'Neill is reportedly keen on Johnson, according to The Mirror, and could move for the winger on loan.
It is understood that Johnson receives wages of £50,000 per week at City.
