La Liga president Javier Tebas has acknowledged that he is almost certain that Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid this summer.

Since the turn of the year, it has been widely claimed that Mbappe has already decided to depart Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer upon the expiration of his contract in June.

While other clubs have been linked with the France international, Real Madrid have always been his first choice should he depart Parc des Princes

Although there has not been any official confirmation from either party, the general consensus is that the 2018 World Cup winner will pen a lucrative contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In the past, Tebas has said on more than one occasion that Real Madrid's increased wage cap for the 2024-25 campaign puts them in a strong position to get a deal over the line.

What has Tebas had to say?

Tebas has recently been speaking at the International Sport Convention where he was quizzed on the possibility of Erling Haaland leaving Manchester City to also sign for Real Madrid.

Despite the Norway international possessing a contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2027, it has long been suggested that the La Liga leaders could be his next destination if he were to ever leave City.

Addressing both scenarios, Tebas replied, as quoted by Manchester Evening News: "I would like to see the best in our competitions.

"I give Mbappe a 99.99% chance that he will play next season for Real Madrid. Haaland is more complicated. He has been at City for a short time to consider leaving."

What is Mbappe's current situation at PSG?

There had been a scenario where the 25-year-old could have continued to be an automatic pick in the PSG starting lineup and complete the majority of fixtures.

Instead, Luis Enrique has opted to only keep the attacker in his side for the major games since it emerged that Mbappe had reportedly given the green light to joining Real Madrid.

From February 17 onwards, Mbappe has completed the 90 minutes on just four occasions, while he was part of the PSG side that lost 3-2 to Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League last-eight tie in midweek.

Overturning that deficit, after an ineffective showing in the first game, will be Mbappe's priority as he bids to present PSG with the ideal parting gift.

With PSG not in action this weekend, Mbappe will be well rested for the fixture at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on Tuesday.
