West Ham United have reportedly set their sights on signing Wilfried Bony from Manchester City.
The Hammers looked to have completed their summer-long search for a new striker when they spent a club-record fee on Andre Ayew, but the former Swansea City man has since been ruled out for four months through injury.
Andy Carroll has also suffered another injury setback, which could see manager Slaven Bilic return to the transfer market for further attacking reinforcements.
Bony is understood to be surplus to requirements under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium having failed to make the matchday squad in any of the club's games so far this season.
The Ivorian, who scored four goals in 26 Premier League appearances last season, is now behind both Sergio Aguero and Kelechi Iheanacho in the pecking order at City.
