Yangel Herrera is still hopeful that he will be given the chance to prove himself at Manchester City.
The 23-year-old has been contracted to the Premier League side since 2017 but is yet to represent them, spending time out on loan with New York City FC, Huesca and Granada.
The midfielder has been in strong form for Granada during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring eight times and providing two assists in 41 appearances in all competitions.
Herrera has a contract with Man City until June 2024, and the Venezuela international is eyeing a first-team spot at the Citizens, who are said to be weighing up their plans for him.
"I focus on the day to day. It's what has led me to where I am and that teams like that take me into account. Now I don't think about whether I'm going there or not. I try to do well in Granada and in the future we will see if I can be there (Man City)," Herrera told El Estimulo.
"I work for [playing for a top European club]. I think it's my goal. My dream was to play for the national team and reach an elite club in Europe. I try to evolve and grow. I can be very close to achieving it."
Herrera played the full 90 minutes in both legs of Granada's Europa League quarter-final with Manchester United. body check tags ::
