Pablo Zabaleta has expressed his hope that Manchester City teammate James Milner will remain at the club beyond this season.
The 29-year-old is out of contract in the summer but is yet to commit to a new deal at the Etihad Stadium, which has led to speculation over his future.
Milner netted a last-gasp equaliser to rescue a point against Hull City in a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
"We know how important James is for this team, for this club. His commitment and his passion have always been fantastic for this club and this team," Zabaleta told BT Sport.
"He is a player who can play in different positions. He is a great professional, a fantastic lad. Hopefully he can sign a new deal and stay with us for many years."
England international Milner joined City from Aston Villa for £26m in 2010.
