Manchester City utility player Oleksandr Zinchenko is reportedly close to penning a new long-term contract.
Despite Pep Guardiola giving Zinchenko an opportunity to earn first-team football elsewhere last summer, the Ukraine international opted to remain at the Etihad Stadium in a bid to win over his manager.
The decision ultimately paid off as Zinchenko regularly deputised for the injured Benjamin Mendy at left-back, making a total of 29 appearances in all competitions.
According to The Telegraph, the 22-year-old's performances have left Guardiola happy to offer him the opportunity to sign a five-year deal.
The report suggests that an official agreement being reached is a formality, and an announcement could be made in the coming days.
