England manager Roy Hodgson has expressed his happiness at the performance of Danny Welbeck during Saturday's friendly with Belgium.
The Manchester United forward scored the only goal as the Three Lions saw off their Belgian opponents 1-0 at Wembley. Welbeck was supported by club teammate Ashley Young, who played just behind the main striker, and Hodgson is thrilled with the chemistry between the two players.
"It was a very good goal. I was delighted with the way he took it and delighted with the way they fashioned it," Hodgson said.
"It was a good piece of work from the two front players. They worked well together to pressurise the Belgium defence.
"When Ashley played him in I thought he showed remarkable calmness to keep his head on his left foot and chip it over the goalkeeper. That, for me, was the highlight of the game."
England are in Group D for Euro 2012 along with France, Sweden and Ukraine.
