A groin injury may reportedly force Chris Smalling to miss England's Euro 2012 campaign this summer.
The complaint forced the centre-back to be substituted during Manchester United's 2-0 victory over Swansea City on Sunday afternoon.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had initially played down fears that Smalling could face an extended spell on the sidelines with the problem.
However, the 22-year-old has suffered more damage than was originally anticipated, according to the Daily Mail.
New England boss Roy Hodgson is expected to announced his preliminary squad for the tournament next Monday.
