With the coronavirus pandemic having brought a halt to the Premier League campaign, Liverpool are yet to discover whether they will be provided with the chance to end their three-decade wait for a league title.

However, the majority of the 20 clubs in England's top flight face an anxious wait over their own positions, whether that be to do with European qualification or potential relegation to the Championship.

Naturally, the current global crisis has caught everyone off guard, resulting in frequent meetings being held between the powers-that-be at their respective organisations. However, it naturally raises the question of what would have happened in years gone by had the Premier League been ended after gameweek 29?

By the end of the 1993-94 campaign, Manchester United had successfully defended their crown with minimal fuss, finishing eight points clear of Blackburn Rovers and a further seven ahead of Newcastle United.

Ipswich Town were fortunate to avoid being sucked into the relegation zone, dropping from 12th to 19th having recorded just four points from their final 11 matches.

With regards to the mid-table positions, it was Wimbledon who made the most significant move, progressing from 11th place into sixth after putting together an outstanding 23-point haul from their closing 11 fixtures.
