Marcus Rashford's record vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Rashford has faced Brighton on 17 occasions during his professional career, winning 11 times, scoring four goals in the process, but he has also been on the end of six losses to the Seagulls, who have had the better of their recent meetings with the 20-time English champions.

The forward has taken on the club 14 times in the Premier League, with a record of eight wins and six defeats, while he has also faced them twice in the FA Cup and once in the EFL Cup.

Rashford actually has a perfect cup record against Brighton, helping Man United triumph in the sixth round of the 2017-18 FA Cup and in the semi-finals of the 2022-23 competition.

The Red Devils also beat Brighton 3-0 in the fourth round of the EFL Cup during the 2020-21 season, with the England international playing 21 minutes of the contest.

Rashford's first of four goals against Brighton came at Old Trafford in 2019, while he has netted twice more against the Seagulls at Old Trafford in both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 campaigns.

The forward is currently on a run of six matches without a goal against Brighton, though, drawing a blank in a 2-0 victory for the Red Devils at Old Trafford during the 2021-22 season.

Man United actually lost twice to Brighton in the league in 2022-23, with Rashford playing the full match on both occasions.

Indeed, the Seagulls recorded a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford on the opening weekend of the 2022-23 campaign before winning 1-0 in the reverse fixture.

Rashford also could not stop his side from losing 3-1 to Brighton at Old Trafford in the early stages of the 2023-24 Premier League campaign, but he was a late substitute in a 2-0 success for Ten Hag's side on the final matchday of the same season.

There was speculation surrounding the attacker's future during the 2024 summer transfer window, but he remained at Old Trafford and was in the starting side against the Seagulls in the second game week of the 2024-25 season.

Rashford could not help his side pick up a positive result at the Amex, though, and he was substituted in what proved to be a 2-1 defeat for Erik ten Hag's side.

The forward did have the ball in the back of the net in the first half of that contest, but it was disallowed for offside, and he was replaced in the 65th minute of the match.

Rashford has now lost four of his last five league games against Brighton, while he has not registered against them since the second half of the 2020-21 campaign.

The attacker signed a new lucrative contract with Man United in the summer of 2023 off the back of an excellent 2022-23 campaign, but he found it difficult to impress during the 2023-24 season. body check tags ::
