Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Cardiff City

:Headline: Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Cardiff City: ID:358415: from db_amp
Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting with Cardiff City.

Manchester United play host to Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon unable to earn a top-four spot in the Premier League standings.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been hoping that back-to-back wins against Huddersfield Town and Cardiff would be enough to earn a spot in next season's Champions League, but United were held to a 1-1 draw at the John Smith's Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

United can now only finish in fifth position, but they must see off their Welsh opponents and hope that Arsenal do not defeat Burnley at Turf Moor.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for the North-West giants ahead of the game at Old Trafford.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S INJURY LIST

Eric Bailly

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Eric Bailly sustained a knee injury against Chelsea at the end of April, and the Ivorian will not return until the next campaign.

Romelu Lukaku

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Cardiff)

Romelu Lukaku is said to be carrying a hamstring problem, and it currently appears unlikely that he will be risked at the weekend.

Alexis Sanchez

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Cardiff)

Alexis Sanchez was withdrawn early in the second half against Huddersfield with what appeared to be an ankle injury, and it is unlikely that the Chilean will feature against the Bluebirds.

Jesse Lingard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Cardiff)

Jesse Lingard will be assessed ahead of a potential return on Sunday afternoon, as the England international has been sidelined due to inflammation in his knee.

Sergio Romero

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: May 12 (vs. Cardiff)

Sergio Romero sustained a knee injury in training last week, but it is currently unclear whether the Argentine will be back in the squad for the last game of the season.

Antonio Valencia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: Unknown

Antonio Valencia has not been in contention for a number of weeks, and Solskjaer is unlikely to consider the right-back for selection with the player expected to move on at the end of the season.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

United have no suspension issues ahead of their final fixture of the campaign.
