Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Roberto De Zerbi has remained coy about the availability of Jason Steele, Evan Ferguson and Joel Veltman for Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.

Goalkeeper Steele missed Brighton's 2-1 Premier League win at Chelsea last weekend with a 'slight injury' while both Ferguson and Veltman were forced off with respective ankle and muscle problems in the first half.

De Zerbi initially revealed after the match that both Ferguson and Veltman would be sidelined for at least a "couple of weeks" and would therefore miss Sunday's trip to Wembley.

However, the Italian has since suggested that the duo, along with Steele, have a chance of recovering in time for the semi-final clash against Man United.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, De Zerbi said: "The situation on injuries is not clear. We will see tomorrow morning. We have another two days. We have time to understand the situation and analyse the decision."

Asked if Steele could recover in time to start between the sticks ahead of Robert Sanchez, De Zerbi added: "Yes, but I don't know if he is 100% or if he can play."

Brighton will have to cope without Adam Lallana (thigh), Jakub Moder (knee), Jeremy Sarmiento (ankle) and Tariq Lamptey (knee) as they all continue their rehabilitation from injury.

The Seagulls will be boosted by the return of Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill, though, who was ineligible to face his parent club last weekend and could return to the starting lineup against Man United.

Brighton have beaten Middlesbrough, holders Liverpool, Stoke City and Grimsby Town to reach the FA Cup semi-finals, scoring 13 goals in the process, but they head into Sunday's tie having failed to win any of their previous five visits to Wembley, including four defeats.

De Zerbi has encouraged his Seagulls side to embrace the occasion and adopt the same philosophy that has worked wonders throughout this season in both the FA Cup and Premier League.

"We are excited, we are ready to play the semi-final at Wembley. We are focused only on the game," said De Zerbi. "We want to play with our quality, our style, our DNA...with emotion. Football is first of all emotion, but we also have to be clear and relaxed."

"We have to love the pressure, we have to get used to it. Playing these type of games is an honour, and I have no doubts in my team.

"We just need to focus on ourselves, while respecting the opponent. Manchester United are one of the best teams in the UK. We deserve to play this type of game.

"If you want to improve and become better, you have to play this type of game. We are speaking about Europe, so we need to compete to become bigger."

De Zerbi added: "I would like us to start the game with a positive mentality, and to enjoy it. To show our quality, we have to enjoy it. We have the possibility to win the game.

"Since working in the UK, you understand the importance of the FA Cup and how people feel about this competition. It's special."

Brighton have already beaten Erik ten Hag's side this season, albeit back in August on the opening weekend of the Premier League season when they secured a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford. body check tags ::
