Liverpool have revealed that summer signing Naby Keita will miss the next couple of days of training due to a neck injury.
Keita has featured heavily for Liverpool during their pre-season campaign so far, but he sat out this morning's 2-1 win over Manchester City in New Jersey.
The club have now confirmed that the Guinea midfielder will not take part in training as a precautionary measure, but hinted that he could be fit in time to feature in their final International Champions Cup match against Manchester United on Saturday.
"Naby Keita is set to sit out training for the next couple of days as a precautionary measure as he recovers from a sore neck," read a statement on Liverpool's official website.
"Keita will be afforded time to recover by not taking part in the immediate sessions, although he has not been ruled out of the fixture with Manchester United in Michigan at this stage."
Liverpool's first competitive game of the 2018-19 season comes at home to West Ham United on August 12.
