Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia could reportedly make his return to action before the end of October.
The Netherlands international missed the entire 2023-24 campaign due to a serious knee injury which required two separate operations, but he has stepped up his recovery in the early stages of this season.
According to Voetbal International, Malacia's return is now 'very close', and there is a chance that he could potentially be available for Man United before the end of the month.
The report claims that the left-back is now training alongside his teammates, and while Man United are being cautious, the club are now confident that he can return to the field without any concerns.
Malacia could return to action before the end of October
While a return before the end of October is seen as optimistic, Malacia should be back over the next two or three weeks, and he is ready to contribute for the Red Devils after a lengthy absence.
Malacia arrived at Man United from Feyenoord in the summer of 2022, and he made 39 appearances for the 20-time English champions during the 2022-23 season, including 22 outings in the Premier League.
However, the left-back has been out for more than a year with a serious knee problem.
Malacia's return would be a huge boost for Man United considering the team's left-back issues, with Luke Shaw yet to play this term due to a calf problem, and it is still unclear when the Englishman will be fit again.
Which match could mark Malacia's return to action?
Man United's last match of October will take place against Leicester City in the EFL Cup, which could provide the perfect chance for Malacia to return, as he is unlikely to be involved against West Ham United on October 27.
The Red Devils will then open November with a clash against Chelsea, before tackling PAOK in the Europa League and Leicester in the Premier League ahead of the final international break of the year. body check tags ::
