Manchester United could be without the services of as many as 11 first-team players for Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

The 20-time English champions entered the international break off the back of a 3-1 loss at Arsenal, with the Gunners scoring twice in second-half stoppage time to win it.

Man United have won twice at home this season against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest but have been beaten twice away, also losing in North London to Tottenham Hotspur, with a total of six points leaving them in 11th spot in the table.

Antony will not feature against Brighton, as the Brazil international is currently taking a leave of absence to deal with the abuse allegations levelled at him.

Defenders Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane and Tyrell Malacia are also definitely out, while experienced goalkeeper Tom Heaton remains unavailable for selection due to a calf issue.

Another player who will definitely be missing against Brighton is Amad Diallo, as the Ivory Coast international is still struggling with the knee problem that he picked up during pre-season.

Kobbie Mainoo has made significant progress in his recovery from the ankle issue that he suffered during pre-season.

The teenage midfielder is again likely to be absent against Brighton, but he is set to return before the end of the month in what will be a huge boost for the club.

Jadon Sancho's involvement is also unclear, with the attacker left out against Arsenal last time out due to poor performances in training, although he has now removed the post on his social media account which criticised head coach Erik ten Hag, suggesting that the two individuals could rebuild their relationship.

There is huge doubt over Lisandro Martinez, meanwhile, due to the foot problem that forced the central defender to leave the field against Arsenal before the international break.

Martinez travelled with the Argentina squad for their two World Cup qualifiers, but he did not feature in either match, which will be a concern for Man United.

The 2022 arrival from Ajax will need to be assessed upon his return to Carrington in order to determine whether he will be available for the game with Brighton.

Mason Mount, meanwhile, has missed Man United's last two matches with the thigh problem that he suffered during the loss to Tottenham in the team's second game of the season.

The England international has made huge strides forward, but his availability for this match is unclear, with an update likely to arrive during Ten Hag's press conference on Friday.

Sofyan Amrabat was also forced to withdraw from the Morocco squad due to injury, so the deadline-day loan arrival from Fiorentina is a doubt for the clash with Brighton. body check tags ::
