Mason Mount has been ruled out of Manchester United's next two home matches after sustaining an injury against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The knock will keep Mount on the sidelines until after the upcoming international break in September.
A statement on the club's website classes the injury as a "slight complaint" which was picked up over the weekend.
As a result, the midfielder will now miss Man United's league matches against Nottingham Forest and Arsenal.
Mount has started both of United's Premier League games so far this season, taking up a deeper role alongside Casemiro.
However, the £65m signing from Chelsea has come in for some criticism as the Red Devils have struggled in the early stages of the season.
A 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on the opening weekend saw Erik ten Hag's side fortunate not to concede as they also came out favourably from a late contentious penalty call.
There was no luck on their side at the weekend in North London though, as United fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Spurs.
With Mount now set for a spell out of the side, and Scott McTominay seemingly out of favour, Christian Eriksen is the most likely man to come in.
That is unless the club can get a deal done rapidly to bring a midfielder in before the weekend, something which is believed to be high on the wishlist of Ten Hag.
For Mount, it also means that he is set to miss a third straight England camp through injury.
The 24-year-old has not featured for his country since the World Cup quarter-final against France in December.
Mount was absent from both squads in March and June, where England have started their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, winning four out of four and sitting a long way clear at the top of their section.
Gareth Southgate will announce the next squad in the coming weeks in preparation for England's matches against Ukraine and Scotland, the latter of which is a friendly at Hampden Park. body check tags ::
