Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic admits that he is unsure about Paul Pogba's current situation at the club amid speculation of a fallout with Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has admitted that he is "not sure" about Paul Pogba's current situation at the club after he pulled out of Saturday's FA Cup clash with Huddersfield Town.

Pogba is reported to have fallen out with manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford and withdrew from the match at the John Smith's Stadium on the morning of the game due to illness.

Mourinho admitted after the match that he is unsure whether Pogba will be back available for the Champions League clash with Sevilla on Wednesday, but Matic insists that he remains an important member of the team.

"He is an important player for us, this club, but he is ill and I think that we in the midfield did great. Michael [Carrick] is an amazing player even at 36 he ran a lot and Scott [McTominay] played amazing," Matic told reporters following Saturday's 2-0 win over Huddersfield.

"I am not sure what has happened, I think he was ill and didn't feel very well this morning so I hope he will be ready for the next game."

Pogba has since returned to training less than 24 hours after declaring himself too ill to feature against the Terriers.
