Erling Haaland record vs. Manchester United

Sports Mole looks at Manchester City forward Erling Haaland's record against Manchester United ahead of the Manchester derby.

Erling Haaland has again been in excellent form for Manchester City during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 27 goals and registering six assists in 30 appearances in all competitions.

The Norway international has 17 Premier League goals to his name this term, while he will enter Sunday's Manchester derby off the back of scoring five times against Luton Town in the FA Cup.

The 23-year-old will again lead the line for Man City this weekend, as Pep Guardiola's side welcome bitter rivals Manchester United to the Etihad Stadium.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Haaland has performed against the 20-time English champions during his professional career.

Haaland has tackled Man United on four occasions during his time at Man City, boasting a record of three wins and one defeat, while he has scored five times and registered three assists.

The forward's first-ever appearance against the Red Devils came towards the start of last season, and it was a sensational display from the striker, who scored three times and registered two assists in a 6-3 victory for Guardiola's side.

Haaland, however, could not help his team triumph at Old Trafford in the Premier League last season, with Man United running out 2-1 winners in front of their own supporters to gain some revenge.

The Norwegian was back among the goals when Man City travelled to Old Trafford in the Premier League earlier this term, though, netting twice and providing one assist in a 3-0 success for the Citizens.

Haaland also played the full 90 minutes of last season's FA Cup final against Man United, with Man City running out 2-1 winners to secure the trophy.

Five goals and three assists in three Premier League appearances against Man United is a record that will strike fear into the Red Devils ahead of the contest at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.

Haaland has only scored three times in six Premier League games since returning from a foot injury, but his five goals against Luton in the FA Cup last time out showed that the Norwegian is back to his best ahead of the Manchester derby. body check tags ::
