A frustrating summer transfer window has now closed with Manchester United having missed out on a number of their top targets, including Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils were busy on deadline day, though, bringing in Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri, in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Amad Traore in January. Attention will now switch to other business they may do when the window reopens in the winter.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.
Sunday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Manchester United 'interested in Brazilian youngster'
Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Famalicao youngster Gustavo Assuncao.
The 20-year-old, who captains his Portuguese club, has made 46 appearances for Vila Nova since leaving Atletico Madrid to link up with the Primeira Liga outfit.
According to AS, Assuncao's performances for Famalicao have caught the attention of United, who have been 'carefully examining' his form in the early stages of the 2020-21 campaign.
The report, though, claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side could face competition from both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton if they were to make a move.
Assuncao has a contract in Portugal until June 2025, but it has been suggested that an offer in the region of €25m (£22.6m) in either January or next summer would be considered.
The holding midfielder is the son of former Porto and Atletico midfielder Paulo Assuncao.
Manchester United 'weighing up Harvey Barnes move'
Leicester City attacker Harvey Barnes has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Manchester United.
The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for Brendan Rodgers's side during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring five times in 15 appearances, including three Premier League goals from a wide position.
According to The Sun, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is an admirer of the England international and has been keeping an eye on the attacker's form this season.
The report claims that the Red Devils remain keen on a move for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho, but a deal for him is still largely dependent on BVB reducing their asking price.
Leicester allegedly have no intention of selling Barnes in January and have placed a £60m valuation on his shoulders in the hope of shutting down interest from the 20-time English champions.
The Englishman has scored 13 times and contributed 12 assists in 79 appearances for the Foxes.
