Javier Hernandez revels in his goalscoring landmark for Manchester United, while also reserving special praise for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Javier Hernandez has spoken of his happiness after he scored his 50th goal for Manchester United this afternoon.

The Mexican was among the scorers as the Red Devils played out a remarkable 5-5 draw away at West Bromwich Albion in what was Sir Alex Ferguson's last match in charge of the Premier League champions.

"I'm very pleased to have 50 goals but the most important thing is I have won two league titles in three years and played in the Champions League final," he told MUTV. "Like I always say the most important thing is the team and to help the team win trophies."

He went on to pay tribute to his departing manager by saying: "The impact he has had on me is massive. He gave me this big chance to play at the biggest club in the world. He has taught me a lot and I only have thankful words for him.

"[Ferguson's retirement] is not only a loss for the British fans but he has changed football across the world. He has been here for 26 years and made the impossible dream come true like the song says."

Hernandez joined United from Chivas Guadalajara in the summer of 2010.
