Amad Diallo scored twice for Manchester United Under-23s on Saturday as the team recorded a 6-3 win over Liverpool Under-23s in Premier League 2.
United's first-team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed on Friday that Diallo, who officially arrived at Old Trafford this month, would make his first outing for the club against the Merseyside giants.
The 18-year-old sent the Red Devils ahead in the 14th minute of the contest with a calm finish before adding a second from the penalty spot in the 74th minute.
The 20-time English champions agreed a deal with Atalanta BC for the attacker last October but had to wait until January to complete a move due to passport and work permit problems.
Diallo has been training with United's first team since his arrival, and Solskjaer has recently suggested that the youngster is not far away from making his official debut for the Manchester giants.
The teenager scored once in five appearances for Atalanta before moving to Old Trafford.
