Tyler Blackett has admitted that it has been pleasing to see Louis van Gaal give young players a chance at Manchester United this season.
The 20-year-old defender has been regularly involved in the first-team squad early in the new campaign, and he is thankful for the backing he has received from the Dutchman.
"From day one, the manager said that he was going to give young players a chance and he has kept his word, which is pleasing for us all to see," Blackett told United Review.
"I am just pleased that he has recognised me and the other young players who can help the team. He is very encouraging and pushes you to do well."
Academy graduate Paddy McNair has also been used by Van Gaal recently due to a suspension picked up by Blackett.
