Jamie Carragher has revealed that he "still felt nerves" whenever he played for Liverpool against Manchester United.
Carragher represented the Reds 737 times in an Anfield career that spanned 17 years, but the retired defender admitted that he was always nervous playing in the clash between England's two most successful teams.
"There is no other game like [Liverpool vs Man Utd] in the Premier League," Carragher told the Daily Mail.
"Even towards the end of my career, after I had faced United plenty of times, I still felt nerves.
"I'll also never forget the hostility aimed at our team coach when I first arrived at Old Trafford."
The long-serving centre-back retired in May after winning 11 major honours with the Reds.
