Michael Carrick heaped praise on his Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney after his two goals in last night's 4-2 victory in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen.
The England international became only the fourth player to reach 200 goals in the club's history and Carrick admitted that he has not seen him play so well in a long time.
"It was as good as I've seen him for a while. He looked sharp and he looked hungry," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.
"His movement and touch was all there and he showed exactly what a player he is. It's great to have him in that kind of form."
Manchester United visit neighbours Manchester City in their next Premier League match on Sunday.
