Former goalkeeper Tony Coton has claimed that Manchester United's position as Premier League title contenders will be tested when they face Liverpool on Saturday.
It will be the first time that the arch rivals go head to head this season, with Anfield hosting the encounter for a lunchtime kickoff.
United currently sit second in the Premier League table, level on points with leaders Manchester City after seven games, while Liverpool reside seven points adrift.
Jose Mourinho's men are unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions, while in contrast Jurgen Klopp has only overseen one win in the Reds' last seven outings.
"It's always a hard test when you are going to Anfield," Coton told Sky Sports News. "You know what those games are like. This will be a test of where Manchester United stand. If they go there and get a victory the momentum is all going forward."
Both league encounters between the two clubs ended in draws last season.
